WP Super Edit is a WordPress plugin designed to give some control over the visual / wysiwyg editor and add some functionality without modifying the WordPress source code.

“What Was I Thinking?”

WordPress uses the TinyMCE DHTML / javascript based HTML editor. If you think using an HTML document to edit other HTML documents is crazy then your probably right and it was all a bad dream.

Nonetheless what’s done is done, it works, you can edit HTML with an HTML / Javascript application if you feel like it. Not bad… Not perfect, but not bad.

Please visit Using WP Super Edit for in depth documentation including installation, usage, and notes for non-English languages.

Features

“It’s got stuff.”

WP Super Edit Screen Shot

This plugin was designed to act as a framework for managing TinyMCE plugins and buttons. This should not be confused with WordPress plugins.

TinyMCE has it’s own plugin system that will allow you to add features and buttons for just about anything you want… If you are willing to create it. WP Super Edit bundles some useful TinyMCE plugins and gives access to built in buttons and functions.
